ITT: figuring out that “trans-” means “across” by giving other words with same prefix. Yey etymology
Chemistry walking away without looking back as it slides into entgegen.
“meta” also still means “across” in Greece
phérō meant “I carry”
metaphor: I carry across
they now use the term for “transportation in general”
here’s a modern truck in Greece for ΜΕΤΑΦΟΡΙΚΗ
in Greek, they use μεταφορική έννοια (metaforikí énnoia – literally “transportation sense”) to mean “metaphor”
Yo this is an incredibly cool looking truck though
Run of the mill, is there anything in particular you fancy?
Not whom you asked but the way the windshield almost wraps around the front. Like the opposite of this ↓ sexy beast.
I think the color scheme is what caught my eye, but the row of fog lights and general styling are great. Comparing to trucks in US
I think this type specifically is referred to as eurotruck. I always thought the trucks with the large front looked away cooler, and more serviceable. You don’t need to tilt the whole cabin forward 😄
I want one that transforms into a robot.
This is the crapsack universe, so it will, at best, turn into a GoBot.
Hey, Road Ranger was pretty cool.
I don’t think it was true about Road Ranger, but a lot of GoBots just had their robot heads underneath the vehicle pointing towards the ground when they were in car mode and when I was a kid, I was always confused about how they could see anything but the road surface when they were driving around.
