I enabled downvoting on this instance after recently having it disabled. Downvoting is not the same as on Reddit. Downvotes are only relevant to that post. Account karma is not tracked and downvotes do not lead to bans.

However, I will suspend downvoting as a response to severe brigading. Small numbers of brigade votes will not lead to suspension in active communities. I will not suspend downvoting unless downvote brigades become disproportionate.

Downvoting a post that you disagree with without explanation will be considered misuse and may lead to suspension.

If someone makes a reasonable post, an explanation of disagreement is expected. We’re not having Reddit echo chambers where posts are downvoted without explanation.

I will not be casually removing downvoting entirely. I will not be making a free-for-all to post whatever insane takes anyone feels like.
